Obituary

Aaron was born in South Miami (Redland). He attended Primary C Elementary and Dorsey Senior High School. Before Northwestern was built Dorsey was also a high school. He quit high school to take care of his siblings.

Aaron was an aspiring heavyweight boxer. He frequently trained at the famed fifth Street Gym on Miami Beach, where Cassius Clay AKA Muhammad Ali worked out. He was also the opening exhibition prior to the headline fights on national division. He traveled to Milan, Italy, to box as his trainer was promoting his talent.

He loved playing baseball and shooting billiards (pool). During the early 1960s, when Doo Wop was popular, he and a group of friends were often gathered imitating the dance moves of popular artists of the time like the Platters. He had a melodic voice.

Because his father was estranged from the family, as the oldest son, when his mother contracted polio in 1954 and was hospitalized for months. He quit high school to become the breadwinner for his four younger siblings, preventing the county health department from separating the family during that worldwide epidemic.

The Laborers’ Union in Liberty City trained him to be a skilled carpenter. He was instrumental in constructing and building the cabinetry in many of the high-rise buildings and gracing the skyline of Miami-Dade County.
