Obituary
Albert Lee Sally, affectionately known as Big Al, was born on March 1, 1947 in Grenada, Mississippi, to the late Tom and Mary Sally.
Big Al attended school in Mississippi. Once he became a young adult, he moved to Florida in 1965 to join his siblings and Miami (Liberty City) became his home.
Big Al never met a stranger. He went on to meet Brunnie “Brenda” Blanding, and through this friendship a daughter was born in the early 80s. Big Al was known to be at the USA flea Market with those green Balls in hand, or at the pool hall and on 15th where he made many friends. Big Al was a ray of sunshine with his larger-than-life personality. He was very selective of the words he used, if you asked how he was, you were going to hear, “Wonderful!” It was known to be his favorite word. Big Al made it a point to help when he could.
We were saddened by the news on Sunday May 12, 2024, that Big Al received the call home by the voice of Jesus saying, “Come unto me and rest.”
Big Al leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Precious Blanding of Ocilla, GA; sister, Mary Sally; brothers, Johnny, Milton, James, Hilton, and Willie Lee Sally; grandchildren, Michael Joiner, Jr., and Nikail Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
