Obituary

Alphonza Small, was born September 1, 1958, in Moncks, Corner, South Carolina, to the union of Isaac, Sr., and Maesena Small. Alphonza attended school in South Carolina and graduated from the Berkeley Training High School. After high school, he relocated to Miami, Florida, and enrolled in aviation school. He then took on a job as an aircraft mechanic for many years.
 
Alphonza met and married Valeria Goree. This union was blessed with his one and only daughter. Alphonza and Valerie were married for 21 years. Alphonza was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He cared greatly for other.
 
In the early morning on June 8, 2024, at Batish West Hospital, Alphonza passed away from time to enternity after a long Christian and civic life. 
 
Alphonza was proceeded in death by his parents, Isaac Sr. and Maesena Small, and his brother, James Rufus Small
 
Alphonza Small will be greatly missed by all who knew he and his memories will live on in the hearts of his wife, Valeria; daughter, Deidra; two (2) grandchildren, Devaria Goree and Donnell McNair; two (2) sisters, Vernial R. Small of South Carolina and Barbara Small-Gibbs of Miami, Florida; three (3) brothers, Frederick Small of Miami, Florida, Clarence Small, and Earl Benjamin, both of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
