Obituary
Alvin Lee McPhearson was born to the union of the late Willie and Nettie McPhearson on July 11th, 1957 in Miami, Florida. Alvin Lee McPhearson received his education from the Miami Dade Public School System; he received his high school diploma from Miami Springs Senior High School. After high school, Alvin went to Miami Dade Community College ( Miami Dade University). There, he enrolled in a some courses. Alvin developed a passion for cars, being taught by his father, the late Mr. Willie, who trained all his children the trade. Alvin specialized in auto paint and body work. His father’s legacy lives on through his children.
Alvin received Christ at a young age and attended Brownsville Baptist Church with his family, under the leadership of the late Reverend Roosevelt Johnson. His relationship with Christ carried him throughout his entire life. Although Alvin had his share of ups and downs, as we all do, he kept his faith and after developing a personal relationship with Christ, Alvin took up his cross and began following Christ. Alvin took proper courses and became an ordained minister, which he was proud about. Alvin loved the Lord and he attended the Hosanna Community Baptist Church, under the leadership of his longtime friend and neighbor Reverend Charles L. Dinkins, Alvin served faithfully with the Evangelist ministry, helping around the church; whatever his Pastor asked of him, he made sure he got it done.
During Alvin’s free time, he played basketball. He entered tournaments at the Miami Highlights. Alvin better known as (BKA) Coo-Coo was the neighborhood champ in the brownsub area, and he was well loved.
Alvin reconnected with his daughter, Sharina McPhearson, and they shared an unbreakable bond. He truly adored being a father and grandfather, and it brought him so much joy.
Alvin’s health suddenly began to declined, but he was courageous and kept his faith. He would sing unto the Lord, every day all day. On the early morning of March 11, 2024, God whispered in his ear, “come unto me my Child and rest. Alvin traded his Cross for his Crown.”
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Willie McPhearson, and his brother, Calvin McPhearson.
Alvin is survived by his mother, Nettie McPhearson; son, Tarvis White; daughter, Sharina McPhearson; brothers, Charles (Lillian); Lydell and Victor McPhearson; sisters, Patricia and Valerie McPhearson; five grandchildren; and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends; as well as special friends, Dare, Melody Smith, and Terique.
