Obituary
Sister Anne’s story began as far as we know with her grandfather, Herard Philippe, a French archaeologist and farmer who adopted her father, Joseph. Joseph married her mother, Viergenie, who gave birth to thirteen children in la Valee de Jacmel, Anne being the youngest one born on March 13, 1935.
Being a survivor, Anne was one of seven children remaining after the deaths by unknown causes of six of her siblings. Despite family turmoil, she managed to attend Catholic school after the move to Port-au-Prince.
In addition to working in a factory, she was a dress maker specializing in haute couture.
Seeking a better life, she migrated to America by way of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This was followed by her move to New York, where she completed her Nursing Assistant and Dietician certifications.
She became an active member of the Hebron French Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Brooklyn. It was in Brooklyn where she met Pierre St. Armand Edouard, who would be her husband for 55 years until her departure from this life.
Her active church membership continued when she moved to Miami in 1974 and joined the Zion French Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Anne was a good woman and had a good life until succumbing to the effects of the untreated mental disease of Schizophrenia.
We all know we are passing through, and she passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. Now, she is sleeping and waiting for Jesus to take her to meet with the Lord and be happy forever.
She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other people who remember her quiet presence on this earth.
