Annie Carmina Facey Wooten was born to the late Charles and Asenath Facey on December 7, 1926, in Havana, Cuba. The family later moved to Kingston, Jamaica, where she received her education and became a prolific English scholar. Her ability to write sparked the attention of the Consulate in the Embassy in 1955, when she applied to enter the United States. Once here, she attended two venues before attending school at Dorsey which is now a vocational school and met the Bishop William and Lady Marie Carswell. She was instrumental in assisting them in their skills. She was invited to reside with the Carswells for a short while till she moved into her residence. Although she was a Methodist by birth, she was introduced to the then Liberty City Church of God where she became a member. While there, she met her husband of 61 years, the late Isaac Wooten, Jr., and six children were born to this union. While residing at Liberty, she was the youth president under the late George Wallace, led Bible study under Bishop Thomas Chenault, and sang in the choir under the direction of the late Janie Nelson. Sister Carmen served under ten pastors, Bishop Curry, Bishop Roosevelt Hestle, Bishop George Wallace, Bishop Thomas Chenault, Bishop Walter D. Jackson, Bishop Jonathan Ramsey, Jr., Bishop Percevall Wallace, Sr., Russell Tomlinson, Bishop Isaac Wooten III (her oldest son), Bishop Sam Green, and now, Bishop Kent Shaw. She was known as a reciter of poetry/readings-she was called on numerous occasions to participate in different church functions. She was also praise and worship leader under Bishop Isaac Wooten III. It’s amazing because of her ability to spell so well that ability trickled down to her grandchildren. 

Sister Carmen leaves to mourn: Icema Somers (David, deceased), Amoy (Morris, deceased), Isaac III (Julia), Fay (Thomas), Carlos (Sharon), Noel (Leitha), Anthony Lee (deceased); one brother, Delfin (Teresa); one sister-in-law, Delore Wooten; twenty-one grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and great and great-grandnieces, great and great-grandnephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
