Obituary
Archie Mathis III was born August 12, 1959, to Charlynn and Archie Mathis II. He was the second of eight children born to this union. He attended Miami Jackson Senior high school. During high school he played basketball and enjoyed sports.
After high school he worked at meat packaging company then North Dade clinic where he met his wife, before being hired at Jackson Memorial as a security guard. He faithfully worked at Jackson for over 30 plus years and retired honorably in 2020.
One of Archie’s primary interests was in Masonry. He was an active member of Joshua Lodge #5 and enjoyed attending meetings and participating in community service activities on Saturdays. He also enjoyed collecting tools and gadgets of all kinds.
Archies was a very loving and caring family man who preferred to spend time at home with his family watching sports, movies, wrestling and just relaxing.
Our beloved Archie passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2023, at the age of 64. He was surrounded by his faithful wife Donna and son Archie.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents Archie Mathis II and Charlynn Mathis, son, Kadeem Haggins Mathis.
He leaves behind his wife Donna Marie Pitter Mathis of 21 years, daughter Khadijah Nicole Mathis, son Archie Anthony Mathis, Stepson’s, Andrew Davis(Crystal) and Andre Pitter. Grandson, Brandon Ducas. Seven siblings: Nathan Mathis, Jimmy Mathis, Johnny Mathis, David Mathis, Linda Mathis, Natalie Mathis, Kathy Mathis, Brothers-in-law, Anthony Pitter (Cassandra), Horace Pitter, and Fitzgerald McKinson (Patrice), Sister-In-Law, Oddette Sharon Adderley and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
