Obituary
Bertha Mae Lynn Brailsford was born December 4, 1955, in Clayton, Alabama, to the late Delmon and Mattie Lynn. Bertha was the tenth child of twelve children, nine
girls and three boys.
As a young woman, Bertha relocated from Alabama to Miami, Florida and completed her high school education from Miami Northwestern Senior High School. A few years later, she met and married Joe E. Brailsford. They had two daughters, Erika and Shameika, and a bonus son, Corey Burton (Joe Brailsford).
Bertha loved good music and having a good time. Her smile lit up a room and her jokes kept you laughing. Bertha loved the Lord and her family. She was a generous soul with a big heart towards her family and friends.
Bertha was employed by Clark Brothers Dye Services for many years until she retired. After retirement, Bertha settled into being a grandmother to Antonio Brown, Jr., and a support system for her endless friends and family.
Bertha was preceded in death by her sister, Irma Miller, three brothers, Henry Lynn (Buddy), Willie Lynn (Buck), and John Henry Lynn.
On Sunday, September 24, 2023, she heard the Master’s call to glory and she took her flight. Bertha leaves to mourn and celebrate her love: her husband, Joe E. Brailsford; two daughters, Erika Brailsford and Shameika Brailsford; grandson, Antonio Brown, Jr. (Tony); sisters, Queen Lawyer (Willie), Ruby Stang, Mattie West, Essie Lynn, Patricia Fisher (Marion) and Sarah Hallmon (Rufus); and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends.
