Obituary

Betty Cannon Williams was born September 6, 1946, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Lola Mae Cannon and Willie Cannon. She relocated to Miami with her mother and siblings. Betty attended Poinciana Park Elementary and Dorsey Middle and was a proud graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School and graduated class of 1966. Betty succeeded in earning her credentials in early childhood education at Lindsey Hopkins Technical College. Betty was very passionate for children and opened a daycare in her home where she cared for many babies in Carol City. She also worked in the YMCA aftercare, Toys R Us retail, and Little Scholar Child Care.

In 1972, Betty married the love of her life, Thaelton Williams. They had two daughters, Regina Williams and Tracee Williams. Later. came along her daughters, Tania Williams and Janie Lemon.

Betty was a firm believer in Christ. She received Christ and was baptized at a young age under the ministry of Mother Akins at the Bethel Apostolic Church. Betty and her daughters joined First Baptist Church of Bunche Park. In 1997, she joined New Birth Baptist Church. She later joined Abundant Life Changing Ministry under the leadership of Apostles Rudy and Dedra Barber. Her gifts and callings were acknowledged and she served in the Nursing Home Ministry and was licensed to preach the gospel.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Thaelton Williams; mother, Lola Mae Cannon White; daughter, Regina White; and brothers, Jackie Cannon and George Cannon. 

Betty leaves to mourn: her three beautiful daughters, Tracee Ullysse, Tania Williams-Clements (James), and Janie Lemon; only living aunt, Betty Jean Mackey; grandchildren, Jasmine, Caleb, Jahmari, and Daquan; two nieces, Lisa Wilcox and Kimberly Leonard; one nephew, William Cannon; sister-in-law, Jennifer Cannon; best friend, Eula Ferguson; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
