Obituary
A Time to be Born
Betty Kay Daniels-Thomas, daughter of Johnnie and Mildred Daniels, was born on March 16, 1951, in Miami, FL. She was one of three siblings.
A Time to Learn
Betty was a product (elementary through high school) of the Miami-Dade County public school system. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School. Betty went on to obtain her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education. She was a Certified Teacher and spent her entire career teaching at Meadowlane Elementary School.
A Time to Live
Betty was reared in a Christian home and became acquainted with God’s word at an early age. She knew the Lord as her personal Savior. She was a dedicated member and avid church goer of God’s Temple of Authority. She served as a local minister and financial officer as well as in whatever capacity needed.
A Time to Rest
On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, God in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to send His chariot of fire to transition His good and faithful servant from earth to glory. Betty, a humble yet brave spirit, took flight and is now resting on God’s celestial shores. We, her loved ones, friends, and associates are here today to pay our last respects to her earthly body. Betty finished her race and kept the faith. Both parents preceeded her in death, Johnnie and Mildred Daniels and a brother Johnnie Jr.
A Time to be Cherished
Those left to cherish precious memories are her son, Alfonzo Thomas (Kareemah); brother, Cecil Daniels (Patricia); grandchildren, Traneh Thomas-Baldwin, Alphonzo Thomas III, Ja’alyah Thomas, Alonah Thomas, Kenyah Thomas, Asaiah Fertil-Thomas, Ranaye Brown, and Alijah Bellamy; nephews, Lee Dingle and Jerry Daniels; nieces, Sharee Daniels, Letitia Daniels, and La’Keitha Daniels (Carlos); and a host of other extended family and friends.
