Obituary
Beverly Francine Sloan was born in Miami, Florida, on April 2, 1960, to the late Joan E. Smith and the late Norman Sloan. She was the second child of seven children. She was educated in Miami Dade County public schools, where she graduated from Miami Central High School in 1978. On November 27, 2005, she became a member of New Providence M.B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Vincent Davis and now under the leadership of Pastor Steven J. Caldwell. She served diligently as a member of the Mission Ministry, Deaconess Ministry, and the Mothers Board.
Her hobbies were listening to Gospel music, going to movies, and doing arts and crafts. Beverly was also a member of the International Order of Eastern Stars Sisters of Faith #3 Chapter, of which she was dedicated member for many years. She was employed by Miami-Dade County Public Schools system. She started out as a school crossing guard and advanced to being a school bus driver where she transported thousands of students back and forth to schools, field trips, sporting events, etc. She served as a school bus driver until her health failed her and she medically retired.
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, God decided to take His child to His heavenly home to be with Him. She was preceding in death by her parents, Joan E. Smith and Norman Sloan; daughter, Keondra MacDelvis; husband, Moses Lee Spann; grandmother, Dorothy Smith; and her brother, Gary Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Terrance Sloan (Frances) and Quinton Spann (Lindsey Chris); grandsons, Brandon Sloan and Kmaji Hernandez; granddaughters, La'niyah Duncan and Qu'Ri Spann; great-grandson, Jahmari Sloan; sisters, Deborah Gaitor, Pamela Smith and Lena Miller (Herbert); brothers, Zachary Smith, Sr. (Elizabeth), and Darrell Smith; nieces, Shawntrice Williams, Shanikqua Kirk (Chris), Latrice Wooden, Zackeya Smith, Latravia Haupt (Chris), Marvelous Wooden, and Brittney McKinnon; nephews, Chrishad Ellis, Zachary Smith, Jr., Zackqwon Smith and Nathaddius Smith, Sr.; grandnieces, Shawntranice Caraballo, Rayshari Muldrow (Shaqawn Sr.), Ricki Henry, Keondra Henry, Ayana Wooden, Ziyah Smith, and Nayanni Smith; grandnephews, Jervaris Laster, Jr., Jyquan Wooden, Zaire Smith, Tyler Y'Unique Anderson, Nathaddius Smith, Jr., and Kamarion Francois; great-grandnieces, Malyasia Muldrow, Greigh Bargowski, and Kessence Jackson; great-grandnephews, Shaqawn Muldrow, Jr., Dakoda Burnell, Arlow Muldrow, and Darren Arrmtrong, Jr.; goddaughters, Krasandra Sample, Kimberly Sample and Antoinette Sample; special close friend, Carrie Sample; spiritual sister, Anita Conley; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
