Obituary

Bland Barrymore Williams, Jr., was born on November 15, 1946, and departed this world on November 13, 2024. He was born in Orangeburg, SC, to the union of Bland Barrymore Williams, Sr., and Eula Mae Williams. Bland was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larnzo Williams.

Bland received his education at Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg, SC, and he later attended Orangeburg Technical College. Bland then joined the United States military in Miami, FL, as a reservist. During his military career, he began working as a water purification specialist. His dedication and leadership qualities were the catalyst to his promotion as sergeant. He embodied his role as lead training officer and taught fellow members of his unit at the Williamson United States Army Reserve Center. While there, he always exhibited the utmost respect for “The Uniform.” Bland most honorably served in the Vietnam and Desert Storm conflicts. While serving, he received numerous commendations and awards. He continually displayed an overly friendly and productive relationship with everyone whom he encountered.

Bland’s professional skills and leadership reached beyond his military duties. He worked as a supervisor at VFW 8166, Orangeburg, SC. He also worked as a professional driver for Baxter Medical Supplies, Pro Driver Logistics, and In Touch Logistic Services, LLC.

Bland was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Ann Adams on August 31, 1992, in Miami, FL. They added to their union, one daughter, Kenya Simone Williams, and one son, Bland Williams III.

Bland dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in South Carolina, and later, he joined God’s Church (The POUR) in Miami, FL.

Bland leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Patricia Williams; daughter, Kenya Williams; son, Bland Williams III; cousin whom he adored, Deloris; he will also be missed and fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Valerie Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other close family, and friends.
