Obituary
On July 12, 1961, Bobby was born to the late Florence and Arthur Powell.
As a young man, Bobby clearly understood the value of education. He graduated from Miami Norland Senior High in 1979. From there, he attended culinary school at Florida Memorial College. He found great pleasure as a chef and proceeded to work in various jobs. Bobby later became a truck driver with Republic National Distribution, Universal Environment Service, doing what he enjoyed and had such passion for. His final job was with Amerikooler.
Bobby was a man deep in his faith. He continued to connect with God and was baptized at New Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. He was recognized and acknowledged by Pastor John B. Hicks, Jr., for his outstanding character, love of God, and his commitment to the church. Bobby’s approachable, lighthearted demeanor bestowed him as a trustee in the church. Consequently, Brother Powell was later appointed as Deacon Powell.
Bobby is a guardian and a guiding light blessed by God. Often the voice of calm compassion, many would come to him to talk about their troubles. As a guiding light, Bobby helped blaze the path less traveled. Even through our tears fall, we look ahead with hope and wonder as we celebrate the life of a truly blessed spirit.
On June 25, 2023, the Lord called on his angel to come home. Take flight and soar through the gates in the sky, Bobby. The sky that fills even the deepest valleys with light for eternal happiness is your reward.
Bobby will truly be missed. Bobby leaves behind to mourn and cherish his love and memories: his children, Bobby Jr., Xavier, Renae, Ariel, Brandon, and Mya; siblings, Brenda, Clayton, Tara, Annette, and Michael; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
