Obituary
And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed.
Revelation 21:4
Life Story
On a beautiful Wednesday, September 29, 1965, the loving parents, Margaret Merizier and Vidal Garcia, Sr., received the greatest gift of all. They were blessed with a healthy baby boy whom they named Vidal Garcia, Jr. Brother Vidal Garcia, Jr., was born in the captivating tropical island of Nassau, Bahamas. At an early age, he migrated to Miami, Florida, with his parents. He received his early education in the Miami Dade public school system and graduated from Miami Northwestern Sr. High School in 1984. After completing high school, Vidal would go on to start his life’s journey. On this journey, he decided he wanted to further his education by attending Devry University and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in computer science. His career path would lead him down several paths, where he worked as an intern for the State Attorney’s office. He would then move on to work for the Parks and Recreational Department and the DMV before landing a career with Miami Gardens Code Enforcement. He worked as a dedicated Code Enforcement Officer for sixteen years. He had a strong love for the people he worked with and often referred to them as his family. When it came to family, he had no problem with displaying his love and affection. His love for his family flowed like a river with no ending. He had an unbreakable bond with his mother. A bond that only death itself could break. Although big in stature, he was truly “A GENTLE GIANT.” Vidal was known to many as a “Precious Jewel.” The Amethyst gem fitted him due to it’s meaning of calmness, peace, rarity, and tranquility. Vidal was just that, he was RARE, CALM, and SPECIAL. Brother Vidal gave his life to Christ and joined Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Frazier Arnold, Jr. Due to his illness, he was unable to serve as desired, but he loved the Lord passionately and with deepest sincerity.
Final Chapter
On May 20, 2023, Brother Vidal answered God’s call from labor unto rest. Well done thy good and faithful servant. He peacefully surrendered unto his Lord and Savior. He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Margaret Merizier; father, Vidal Garcia, Sr.; stepmother, Patricia Garcia; brother, Abraham (Porsche) Garcia; sisters, Keundra, Sh’vara, and Precious Brown; aunts, Donna, Jacqueline, and Sharon Lewis, Annafaye Knowles (Regional) Esther Ferguson Cooper, Melina (Anthony) Poiter, Barbara Dolsaint, Shazell Hanna, and Denise Brown; uncles, Derry (Denis) Lewis, Oswald (Millicent) Ferguson, Kermit (Eva Mae) Ferguson, Eugene, Seward, and Charlie Ferguson, and Jose Martinez; nieces, Blessyn Tine, Serenity Mohammad, La’Kayla Dobson, and Monique Saunders; nephews, D’ondre Gardiners, Kendrick Laider, Landon and Julien Garcia, and Breon, Marquise, and Anthony Gordon; special cousins, Lydia Martinez and Margaret Major; godsister, Lizzie Lane; and a host of loving cousins and extended family.
Vidal, we can see you joyfully entering the pearly gates with your arms stretched wide to embrace your brothers; with three of you, Heaven must look really great but just know you can’t be replaced by any other.
