Obituary

Prophetess Calinda Dunn-Hicks was born on November 14, 1968, in Miami, Florida, the only daughter of the late Clarence Dunn, Jr., and Mary L. Dunn.
Prophetess Calinda Dunn-Hicks received all of her education through the Miami Dade County public school system, and she obtained her higher education at Miami Dade College.
Prophetess Calinda’s love for Christ and passion to help others to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ led her to matriculate at several religious institutions based in Florida, the Bahamas, and Georgia.
Prophetess Calinda has always loved to interact with children. She developed a learning program that fostered learning for children of low income families, “A Place of Refuge,” that provided smaller classroom instruction (an eye for seeing).
Prophetess Calinda was well-loved and respected by those who knew her. She exemplified the words in Galatians 5:22, the fruit of the Spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Long-Suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
Prophetess Calinda was dedicated to providing for her community by feeding the homeless, clothing the needy, and providing words of encouragement and consolation to all with whom she came into contact.
Calinda was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Dunn, Jr., and brother, Glendon Miles Dunn.
Prophetess Calinda is survived by her son, Mikos A. Dunn; mother, Mary Dunn; grandchildren, King Mikos Dunn, TyBriya Henry, LaCary Mason, and LaCorya Mason; brothers, Santo Jerome Dunn, Terryl Larange Dunn, and Clarence Omar Dunn III; two sisters-in-law, Shaneque and Sharlene Dunn; and host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
“May the Works I Have Done Speak for Me.”
