Obituary
Our beloved Carmen Elizabeth Poitier was born on July 23, 1961, to Anna Rose Blake on the beautiful island of Kingston, Jamaica, as a young girl. She was very vibrant and helpful to those around her. Carmen purchased her first home at the young age of 24 for her children in Jamaica. She later moved to Miami, Florida in 1994, to better her life for her children and herself. She fought hard to overcome adversity with her eye condition. She joined the famous poet’s society and won Poet of the Year in 2003. She later obtained her high school diploma in 2019 and she was so proud of doing so. Carmen was loved by her family and friends. She was determined to do what she was told she couldn’t. She loved to go to church and praise the Awesome God that she knew life is unpredictable but death is certain. God saw it was time for his servant to come home. She did all that she was born to do and on December 6, 2024, her time was well served.
Carmen is survived by five children, Grace, Jeneva, Lacelia, Ikeena, and Danielle, and six grandchildren, Sade, Kelsie, Abigail, Amaya, Zayn, and Soraya.
