Obituary

Carol Elizabeth Jones was born in Ocilla, Georgia, to Johnny Benyard and Eva Everett. She was the fifth child of seven. As a little girl, Carol’s family relocated from Georgia to Miami, Florida, which they made their home.

Carol grew up in the city of Miami and received her education through Miami Dade County public schools. She attended Olinda Elementary, Henry Filer Junior High, and Miami Jackson, Sr. High School.

After high school, Carol met the man of her dreams, Alonzo Jones, and they had three sons: Alonzo, Lorenzo, and Alfonzo. While their boys were growing up, in 1984, Carol and Alonzo got married. After a few years, Carol started working for Coulter Electronics in the education department. Carol was very dedicated to her position. She worked for Coulter for 20+ years. In 2016, Carol started another career at Walgreens, where she was a pharmacy tech. In 2024, Carol decided to retire and enjoy her life.

Carol was a member of 93rd Street CMBC, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Carl Johnson. She enjoyed attending church.

On August 18, 2025, Carol Elizabeth Jones departed this life. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Benyard; and three siblings, Carlton Everett, Charlene Everett, and Kenneth Everett. She leaves loving memories to: her mother, Eva Everett; husband, Alonzo Jones; sons, Alonzo (Tiffany), Lorenzo (Ayanna), and Alfonzo (Domineke); brothers, Charles Everett, Jr., (Cupidine) and Byron Everett; sister, LaFrances Everett; 20 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
