Obituary

Charles Lemark Horne was born on October 21, 1966, in Miami, FL., to the late Gladys and John Henry Horne.  On September 27, 2024 God called him home reuniting him with his parents and siblings:  Willie B., Eugene, Freddie Lee, Larry, Theodore, Francine, Barbara and Fannie.  Charles was the last surviving child of nine.  He attended Lillie C. Evans and later Thomas Jefferson.

Charles worked as a construction worker but suffered from severe injuries on the job that left him disabled.  He later became self-employed, taking on various jobs to make a living. Charles wasn’t just an all-around handyman, he was known for his creativity, dediation, hard work, loyalty and respect that he gave to many.

Charles’ life was filled with love and joy. He was a devoted son, a loving husband, protective father, step-father, and grandfather, as well as a caring brother and uncle.  Above all, he was a loyal friend. His radiant smile and positive energy made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Charles is survived by his wife: Christina Horne; children: Charlene Jacobs (Harold Jacobs), Licharles Blackman, Sheila Johnson (David Johnson), Freddie Blackman; step-children: Tina Paulk, Antonio Lee, Tyquana Brown; and numerous grandchildren: Jakevia Fitts, David Johnson, Jr., Emily Johnson, Daniel Blackman, Licharles Blackman, Jr., Cristin Blackman, Harold Jacobs, Haylee Jacobs, Liauney Blackman, Liaurey Blackman, Kiyon Blackman, Naomi Blackman, Fatoma Paulk, Antonio Lee, Jr., Arianna Lee, Ayden Lee, Sehjay Lee, Cerenity Blackman, Fay’zaan Blackman, Farrah Blackman. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Though his time with us was short his memory will be cherished forever.
