Obituary
Clara Mae Adams was born on October 7, 1931, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Paul Emperator and Willie Mae Oliver. She spent her early years in Brunswick, Georgia, before returning to Jacksonville for her education.
Clara dedicated her career to the medical field as a Unit Secretary at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She was known for her commitment to her work and the care she provided within the hospital community.
Beyond her profession, Clara found joy in gardening, baking, and cooking. She had a special fondness for azaleas, reflecting her appreciation for nature’s beauty. She was also a devoted member of The Bible Baptist Church in Miami, where she found strength and fellowship in her faith.
Clara transitioned to her heavenly home on January 24, 2025.
Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Solomon Adams; and children Gary Johnson, Diane Holmes, Solomon Adams Jr., and Michael Adams.
She is survived by her son, James Hutchins III, and his wife, Linda. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members whom she loved dearly.
Her memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of kindness and devotion bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
