Obituary
On August 22nd 1948, Claretha Morgan was born in Colquitt, Ga. to the late Mr. Ruben and Mrs. Eloise Morgan, she was the third child born to this union, Roger, Joe, Tyrone, Helen, Al, Sema, Altomese, Raymond, Timothy, Betty and Paulette.
Claretha received her education throughout the Miami-Dade Public School System and graduated from Miami Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1966. After high school Claretha attended Florida Career College and received her Nursing degree and begin her career as a Private Duty Nurse, going from home to home taking care of people of all ages.
Claretha, was a mother to seven children, Andre, Angela, Tangela, Eloise, Travilous, Adrian and Tramaine. She would also take upon the responsibility of raising grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and even the neighborhood children, teaching them the ways of God and feeding them a hot meals, she was known as the collard green Queen. She believed it would take a village, and she helped the village, She would show her love to her community by feeding the homeless, clothing any and every one she had a size for, alone with passing out care packages.
Mother Morgan developed a strong relationship with God, and wanted everyone she came encounter with to get to know God, she would teach Jesus to everybody and tell of his love to them as well.
Mother Morgan joined Greater First Church of Deliverance under the leadership of the late Pastor Mary Edwards and continued serving under the present leadership of Pastor Shirley Fennell. She served faithfully on the Mothers Board, a Sunday school teacher and working with the outreach ministry, passing out pamphlet inviting people to church.
Mother Morgan believed in Proverbs 13:24 “He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him diligent to discipline him.” “Spare the rod, Spoil the child” Mother would reprimand her child and your child. That was our Queen.
Mother answered the voice of the Lord Saturday May 25th, 2024 at Kindred Hospital, in Coral Gables, Florida. Our Queen and Mother went home to be with the Lord.
Mother Claretha Morgan was preceded in death by her parents Ruben and Eloise Morgan, children: Andre, Angela, Eloise, and Adrian, siblings: Roger, Helen, Al, Raymond and Paulette.
Mother Claretha Morgan will forever be missed by: her 3 children Tangela, Travilous and Tramaine, 2 nieces/daughters Fredricka,Tia.13 grandchildren, Andre, Lakeisha, Alexis, Matthew. Quinton, Iesha. Hosea, Miledi (special Granddaughter) Fabian, Travilous Jr., Andre. Tristani, Tierrah and Tiannah, 6 siblings, Joe, Tyrone, Sema, Altomese, Timothy and Betty. 26 great grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
