Obituary
Daisy Delores Crews was born February 22, 1936, as an only child to the late Louis and Alice Murphy in Miami, Florida. She knew the Lord and grew up faithfully in the house of the Lord as a Methodist and member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Overtown where she was raised and also completed her education at Phillis Wheatley Elementary and Booker T. Washington Senior High. She then went on to pursue a career in nursing where she was a CNA for over fifty years until she retired. She worked tirelessly but loved what she did, and she was loved and respected by all of her patients and coworkers. She was a very strong and independent woman who pushed herself past her limits and didn’t allow anything to stop her or slow her down until the very end. She was a fashionista who enjoyed dressing up and going downtown to eat out and shop. Daisy was married to her late husband, Morris Crews, for over two decades. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Gail Symonette; son, Marcelle Brown, Sr.; her grandson, Marcelle Brown, Jr.; and her great-grandson, Mark Sanders, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Linda Delvilla, Sharon Woody (Jimmy), Pamela Crews, and Marsha Brown (Catherine); grandchildren, Tiffany, Tarsha, Tabitha, Trisha, Tara, James, Jarrod, Joshua, Javaris, Jalonza, Ceness, Antwan, Antonio, Isaiah, LaToya, Mustapha, Roc’king; a devoted great-granddaughter, Briana; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and friends.
