Obituary

Daisy Mae Cheatham was born on born March 2, 1950 to Wesley and Bessie sanders in Charleston, South Carolina.

The family relocated to Holly Hill, South Carolina, where Daisy grew up and attended high school in Orangeburg County. She would go one to graduate from Roberts High School. Daisy would meet the love of her life, Charles Cheatham during summer visits to Miami while staying with family. Daisy and Charles married on December 26, 1973. Their union together lasted for 46 years until God called Charles home on August 29, 2020. Their union produced two kids, daughter, Monica Cheatham, and son, Anthony Cheatham.

Daisy worked as a waitress for many years that produce co-workers as longtime friends. Daisy had a smile to light up a room and a sense of humor to embrace anyone’s day. Daisy was humble, kind, hardworking, and spicy all at the same time. She would do anything for her family, especially her kids. Daisy resided in Miami for over 55 years and she was loved and respected by many. To know her was to love her.

Our Queen died on February 19, 2024, at 10:08 PM. Daisy inclined her ears to the whisper of the Lord saying you fought a good fight and finished the course, come on up a little higher, and she fell into the arms of the almighty God.

She now reunited with her husband. Charles Cheatham. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, George Sanders, Willie Sanders, and Irene Hunt.

Daisy leaves to mourn: her daughter, Monica Cheatham and son   Anthony Cheatham ; stepkids, Milton Roundtree, Latonia Cheatham, and Charles Cheatham; sisters, Mary Sanders and Mammie Fogel; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Paul; brother-in-law, Raymond Paul, Hollis Edwards, Anderson Cheatham and James Irene Hunt; nineteen grandkids, 15 great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; two very special friends, Laura Ann Lewis and Mary Brown. Daisy loved you all dearly. Our beloved Queen will be missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
