Obituary

Damion Palmer was born on July 25, 1970, in James Hill Clarendon, Jamaica. For his education, he attended Miami Carol City Senior High where he graduated and later found his passion for baking, pursuing his career at Dave’s Bakery for 27 years. An honorable, hardworking man with many occupations, Damion was also a mechanic, landscaper, painter, and loved to do freelance activities in his free time.

During his downtime, he loved to be home with his family as he favored watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Discovery Channel, and to end the day off by playing the lottery. In addition to driving to visit his family and friends, Damion was not only known for his reliability, but for the integral and noble spirit he carried to and through many people.

Accompanying Damion alongside his life journey, Charmaine Wongsue played such an impactful role through both sickness and health in spite of it all. Together, they had a beautiful daughter named Shanice Wongsue whom he loved very dearly and shared a deep and close relationship with. Shanice considered her father as her confidant, best friend, and person of peace through her growing years. As time passed she had her first daughter, Kalis, better known as “Piggapee,” in which both her and “PaPa” became inseparable. Known for his stoic persona, Damion forever will be held in high remembrance as one who spoke very little, but his silence and energy was exuberated in every room till this day.

He leaves behind his long-time companion (Charmaine), daughter (Shanice), and granddaughter (Kalis). He also leaves behind a host of loving siblings “Sisters” (Dahlia,  Audrey and Angela), “Brother” (Dennis), aunt & uncle (Pauline & Archibald), and a great deal of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In the Palmer family, where reminiscing his presence is only an understatement, he will forever be missed.
