Darrius Lamar Colbert, Jr., was sent from cupid on February 14, 2000, to his loving parents, LaQuwesha Peak and Darrius Colbert (Angela), and also his bonus parents, Cedric Calloway and Shoantel Gains, in North Miami, Florida, at Parkway Medical Center. Darrius was known as “Dootae,” “D,” and many more names to everyone. Darrius was a loving and caring person.

 

Darrius graduated from Miramar High School, Class of 2019. Darrius was either the fly on the wall or the life of the party, but regardless, he was the light in the room. He often loved to dance, being the booty shaker he was. His energy was like no other, and we loved every bit of it.

 

Although he was the leader of the pack not only to his sisters and brothers but also the first everything to everyone, he made sure everyone felt his love and energy as a brother, son, nephew, uncle, cousin, and an even better father. He valued his family like no other and took great pride in bringing joy to everyone’s world with his beautiful smile.

 

Although Darrius wasn’t the biggest in size, his heart was as big as a lion, forcing people to love him wholeheartedly. His smile was as bright as the sun and his name lit up rooms he never even stepped foot in. His confidence was at an all-time high, and his style was even better. At times he would say “I dressed you” or “I taught you how to dress.”

 

On February 17, 2025, God needed his love angel to spread the love from above. While his time may have been cut short, his beautiful spirit will continue to live through us forever.
