David Martin was born on August 9, 1964, in Miami, Florida, to James and Winnie Martin, and was raised alongside his siblings, Judy, Connie, James Jr., Jeffery, and Jerome. David departed this life on September 6, 2024.

David attended Miami Dade public schools. He was self-employed in the lawn and tree business. He was a devoted son and loving father. He was a member of First Faith Cathedral in Miami, FL.

David was preceded in death by his father, James Martin, Sr.

David is survived by: his mother, Winnie Martin of Miami, FL; son, David Martin, Jr. (DJ) of Tallahassee, FL (Delmonica Martin); grandson, David Martin (3rd – aka Ld); brother, Jeffery O. Martin of Tampa, FL (Lashune Martin), James W. Martin of Miami, FL, and Jerome L. Martin of Tampa, FL; sisters, Judy A. Martin (Dee Dee) of Tampa, FL, Sharon Riley of Jacksonville, FL, Ann Martin of Jacksonville, FL, Sheila Kendrick of Jacksonville, FL, and Connie Flowers of Georgia; cousin, Autha M. Oneal of Miami, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
