Obituary

Debara Faye Pinckney affectionately known as DP, completed her earthly journey and peacefully answered her call to glory on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Debara was born November 5, 1954 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Louvada Pinckney and Wheller Pinckney.

Debara lived in Jacksonville, Florida the majority of her childhood and adolescent years. Debara received her formal education in the public school of Duval County, where she met Alvin Lewis Perry, to this union the Lord blessed them with a son, Romyer Deshone Pinckney. Debara relocated to Miami, FL as a young adult, where she worked as a Cafeteria Assistant at Bunche Park Elementary School until she became disabled. Debara loved children and children flocked to her kind nature.

Debara later met Eugene Freeman and to this union the Lord blessed them with a son Deshone Eugene Freeman. Debara sincerely loved her family and friends. She was very committed to doing whatever she could for them, especially cooking and housing them if they needed a place to stay. Debara was not a stranger to anyone. She opened up her home to anyone in need. Debara loved and lived life to the fullest, taking every opportunity to share a joyous moment with others. She was very generous with providing a meal, shelter, or even structured advice; this was such a pleasurable enjoyment for her. Debara kept abreast of the many activities that affected the lives of her family, friends and community. Debara would readily express her opinion, even if you didn’t agree. She would always assure you her opinion was only coming from a place of love.

Debara had a peculiar nitwit about herself and she utilized these skills, especially with young people in helping them acknowledge their potential.

Debara left behind to cherish her fond memories: two sons, Romyer Deshone Pinckney and Deshone Eugene Freeman; a sister, Gloretha Darlene Pinckney-Gray; brother, Lee Marshall Morland (Beverly); nine grandchildren, Aspen Pinckney, Jamall Pinckney, Deshone Demarion Freeman, Jr., Le’asia Louvada Freeman, Nevaeh Marci Butler, Autumn Smith, Kendall Smith, Aiden Smith, and Dream Faye Freeman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a dedicated friend, Bertha Washington and cousin; Joshua Leonard, Paula Knight and Ashton Williams as devoted God Daughter and God son.
