Obituary
Delores Ivery was born on December 26, 1932, in Barbour County, Alabama, to the late John and Albirtha McClain. She was the third of eleven children from her loving parents. She was baptized at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Alabama, where her Christian life began. She was educated at Center Ridge High School.
In the early 1950s she met the late John T. Ivery (JT) and got married on April 19, 1954. After marriage, they decided to relocate to Miami, Florida, to explore better opportunities and to start a family. This joyful union produced three children, a daughter Patricia Spence (Carver) and two sons, Scott (Linda) and Dennis (Collett). She was then blessed with seven grandchildren and one great-grand. She continued her faithfulness to God and established membership and devotion to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Where she was a long-time active member of the Senior Women’s Mission Ministry.
On May 22, 2025, God felt Delores's burdens were too much to bear, so he decided to call her home to his loving arms.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Walter McClain (Victoria); three sisters, Annie Williams, Lola Greene, and Berta Greene (Richard); her beloved children and grandchildren, Shumain (Lizmarie), Rishard (Annie), Sheretha, Anthony, Dennis Jr., Jamal, and Jasma; great-grand, Alexa; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
