Obituary

Doris Jackson Jones was born on May 26, 1960, in Miami, Florida, to Noise and Ceolia Jackson as the sixth of ten siblings.

Doris graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida.

Doris dedicated 30 years of her life to serving others as a devoted employee of Jackson Hospital. Her tireless work ethic and compassionate spirit made a lasting impact on countless lives.

After retiring from Jackson Hospital, Doris relocated to North Carolina, where she spent three years before moving to Georgia to live out the remainder of her life.

Doris’s love for her family was unparalleled. She was a loving mother to three children, Tangela White, Bershawn Jackson, and Tanaysha Williams, whom she lovingly raised as her own. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was proud of the people they had become.

Doris was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a handywoman, a car enthusiast, and a lover of jewelry and fine things. But above all, she was a kind and compassionate person who always put others before herself. Her infectious laughter and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she met.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Noise and Ceolia Jackson; sister, Jessie Lue Roberson; and brother, Richard David Jackson.

She leaves to mourn: her children, Tangela White (Jataurus), Bershawn Jackson (Shannon), and Tanaysha Williams; ten grandchildren, Tashayla White, Jataurus White, Jr., Jasharia White, Tamiah White, Shawnti Jackson, Shari Jackson, Bershawn Jackson, Jr., Caiden Williams, Caison Williams, and Kai’Lee Morrison; siblings, Pearl Moss (Fred), Golden Miller (Herbert), Maxine McMurray (Glenn), Meshelle Jackson, Noise Jackson (Melodi), Jimmie Jackson, and Randy Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Doris will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace with the Lord. Rest in peace, dear Doris. Your love, laughter, and generosity will never be forgotten.
