Obituary

Our beloved Doris Louise Bain Charlton was born on March 10, 1934, to Mrs. Violet and Mr. Robert Bain in the beautiful island of RumCay, Bahamas.
As a young girl, she started her early childhood education in RumCay primary school. In 1955, at the youthful age of twenty-one years old, Doris Louise decided to travel from RumCay, Bahamas, to Miami, Florida, in pursuit of a better life; providing more opportunities and advantages for her and her family.
While here in this United States, Doris Louise wanted to become a nurse and without hesitation, Doris Louise joined the nursing program where she became a CNA and continued her education until she became an LPN.
She met the love of her life, Mr. Samuel Charlton, and shortly afterwards they joined in marriage and raised five beautiful children.
Doris was an active member of the St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, where she was the president of the Senior Usher Board. Doris never held her tongue and was a woman of truth; whatever came up, came out.
Life is unpredictable, but death is certain.
God said it was time for his servant to come home; she did all she was born to do and on March 27, 2023, her time was well served.
Doris was the second oldest out of four kids who all preceded her in death: Caroline Bain, Joseph (Joe) Bain, and Olive (Marge) Bain. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, the late Doritha Laing; son-in-law, Reginal Laing; parents, Mrs. Violet and Mr. Robert Bain; and husband, Samuel Charlton, Sr.
