Obituary

Dorothy Mae Kindell, lovingly known as “Mrs. Dee” was born in Greensville, Florida, in 1959 the seventh child to the loving parents of Carrie Bell Overstreet and H. Wilkerson. In 1968, her family relocated to Miami, Florida, where Dorothy received her secondary education at Miami Carol City High, graduating in 1977.
 
While in Miami, she met her soulmate Sandy Kindell, Jr., in 1980 at a party. The two found in one another a true love and friendship. They became inseparable and married March 22, 1986. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Brittany Nicole Kindell, and she embraced one stepson, Sandy Kindell III, as her own, in addition to treating her special favorite nephew, Dwight Overstreet, as her own.
 
For over 30 years, Dorothy had an outstanding career with Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits. In addition, she also worked 20 years at Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was a dedicated member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church were she served as an usher for over 30 years. She also served her community by giving and cooking anytime needed for gatherings throughout the community.
 
On Friday, March 1, 2024, the lord called home one of his good and faithful servants.She leaves to cherish her loving memory; her husband, Sandy Kindell, Jr.; daughter, Brittany Kindell; stepson, Sandy Kindell III; sister, Carrie Soto; along with a host of Godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
