Obituary
On April 27, 1985, a blessed event occurred as Dwayne Allen Davis, the cherished son of God, was brought into the world by his loving parents Dwayne and Terri Davis. His arrival was marked by a beautiful, sunny Saturday evening at 5:44 p.m.
Just a few months later on June 8, Dwayne was christened, with Bobby and Brenda Cooks graciously accepting the role of his godparents. From an early age, Dwayne devoted his life to God, nurtured by a family filled with love and prayer, constantly immersing him in God’s grace.
Dwayne was a bundle of energy right from the start. Even before he began school, he was already making a mark as a talented young karate enthusiast, winning trophies that towered over him, despite being only five years old. His educational journey took him through Biscayne Elementary, North County Elementary, and then Opa-Locka Elementary, where he formed friendships that would last a lifetime and become an extension of our family.
Dwayne also excelled in sports, particularly football and karate. He played for the Scott Lake Vikings and trained at various gyms across Miami, shining in every endeavor. He continued his football journey through ninth and tenth grade at Miami Jackson Senior High.
After high school, Dwayne’s life was graced with love when he met his wife, Tawanda Jenkins-Davis. Their union was blessed with five wonderful children, with Dwayne always putting his family first. He cherished spending time with them, whether dining out or enjoying spring break trips. He imparted his wisdom to them through heartfelt talks, always ready to share his knowledge and experiences.
In addition to his biological children, Dwayne and Tawanda were blessed with three more children, whom Dwyane embraced as his own with all his heart. Professionally, Dwayne worked at the “House of Mac” and Three D’s Mobile Gaming alongside his cousin Alan Crawford. He also had a passion for music and acting, always ready to share his truth and offer words of wisdom, even when it was unsolicited. His presence was a blessing to anyone in need, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Dwayne’s cherished memory lives on through his beloved wife Tawanda Jenkins-Davis, his father Dwayne Davis Sr., his loving mother Terri Arlene Williams, his grandmother Patricia Williams, and his godmother Brenda Cooks. His children Shanya Jenkins, Demetric Jenkins, Antanise Jones, Dwight A. Davis, Tiye A. Davis, Dwayne Bobby Allen Davis, Daisy A. Davis, and Davon A. Davis, along with his grandson Tarig Saint-Firmin and godson Zion Malachi-Jah Deleveaux, will forever hold him in their hearts. Dwayne’s loving sister Breasha McElliott (Tasha), his niece Jenavia A. Wiggins, and nephew Jevaughnte A. Wiggins also mourn his loss. He is remembered by his Uncle’s Pastor Timothy Williams, Jeffery Nelson, Julian Davis (Regina), Jake Foster (Teresa), Jared Davis (Tonya), and Nigel Berry, as well as his Aunt Barbara Williams-Blue, Adriance Williams, Carolyn White (Steve), Andrea Williams, and Madalyne Berry. His god siblings, Quewanna, Queshanna, Sadonna Matthew Wallace, Tangela and Gia Cogdell, Davon McClover, Devon Anderson, Arnett Phillips, and Gregory Wilson, and a host of devoted grieving cousins, friends, and co-workers will deeply feel his absence.
