Obituary
“I won’t complain….”
God placed Elder Terry LaMar Price, Sr. in this world to do something marvelous and He worked through him to finish the job. Elder began his Christian journey as the beloved son of Jerry Price and Mauldrene Edwards. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 9, 1972, he was the vessel chosen by God to devote his life for His service. This experience was evidenced by his passionately demonstrating compassion, imparting godly wisdom, and showing untiring commitment to his calling. He was a resident of Tallahassee, Florida.
“I’ve had some good days….”
Elder Price’s walk with the Lord created a servant leader who was a pillar of steadfast faith. God gave him the strength, the determination, the skill, the resources, and the energy to do everything He purposed him to do. He dedicated his life to his ministry, his family, Leon County (Florida) community and beyond. Through his teaching of humility and love for others, his leadership affected many lives and inspired them to also walk in faith and purpose.
“He’s been good to me, more than this old world could ever be…”
Because of Elder Price’s obedience to his calling, God blessed him to be a blessing to others. His early career achievements included five years as a police officer in Prichard, AL, pastoral counsel, and owner of Bright Future Christian Academy. His work in the vineyard for the Lord, continued as he effectively served as the Pastor, Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church in Tallahassee and Carrabelle, 17 years; Moderator, the Middle Florida-Georgia District Association, 7 years; Bible Expositor, Florida State Primitive Baptist Convention,10 years; Chairman of Board, Miracle Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Inc, Tallahassee, FL; Board member, Miracle Village Inc., Tallahassee, FL; Regional Vice-President, Southeast Regional Primitive Baptist Convention; Chairman, National Primitive Baptist Convention, USA Inc. Publishing Board; Tallahassee Branch of NAACP, Religious Community Organizer; Political Action Chair, Tallahassee Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance; Founder, Philadelphia Foundation for Community Change; and Founder, Women with Worth Foundation.
“So, I’ll just say thank you, Lord ….”
Elder Price’s loved to work with the youth, teach, and preach. He spoke truth to power in saying, “I love to preach.” / “There is a Word, and God did it again.” / “He looked beyond my faults and saw my need.” However, in addition to his responsibilities as servant leader, Elder Price found creative ways to spend with family, regardless of location – be it national parks or church. He enjoyed music with many of his other pastime interests. Sometimes he became quite competitive but only in the spirit of having fun. He loved to fish, bowl, and bake – his specialty being his savory peach cobbler.
“I asked the question, Lord, why so much pain? But He knows what’s best for me….”
God tends to give the strongest soldiers the toughest battles, and Elder Terry LaMar Price, Sr. was no exception. His physical weakness created spiritual strength and faith that God would never leave him nor forsake him. He joyfully traded his pain for the promise from his Savior who offered him rest and sweet relief, for he had fulfilled his purpose and completed his Christian journey. As a result, on Friday, October 10, 2025, the Lord gently whispered to him, “Come on home.” Well done, good and faithful servant!
“But when I look around and think things over…. All of my good days outweigh my bad days, …. I won’t complain.”
The imprints of Elder Terry LaMar Price, Sr.’s life are etched in the hearts of many, and his legacy of love, service, and excellence will continue to inspire and be cherished for generations to come. Loved ones who will truly miss him until they meet again are his devoted wife of nearly 30 years, Madria Price; sons, Bennnie Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Terry Price, Jr. of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; daughters: Jamesia (Brandon Paramore) Jones of Orlando, FL and Tykia Price of Mobile AL; granddaughter, Ka’leigh Price; his father, Jerry Price of Atlanta, GA; goddaughter, Dallis Fuller of Daytona Beach, FL; godson, Josiah Roberson of Mobile AL; aunt, Hannah (Vernon) Hart of Mobile, AL; uncle, Howard Edwards of Mobile, AL; sisters, Therease Price of Mobile, AL and Tyenisha Edwards of Oxford, MS; cousin: Kenneth Pitts; Little Brother, Pastor Kelvin Wilson; family friends, Minister Dominique Moore & Bro.
