Obituary
Elizabeth Leggett was a loving mother, devoted woman of God, nurturer, and cherished member of her family and community. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, prayer, compassion, and service that will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Elizabeth was born on February 1, 1941, in Tifton, Georgia, to Wayman and Viola Smith. She was one of twelve children. After graduating from high school, Elizabeth moved to Miami, Florida, where she married her beloved husband, Roosevelt Leggett. Together, they made Miami their home and were blessed with five children: Darryl, Kevin, Chris, Janet, and Carol.
Elizabeth was a loving and nurturing mother who cared deeply for her family. She possessed a gentle and soft spirit and carried herself with grace, kindness, and humility. She loved people and had a heart for encouraging and caring for those around her.
Above all, Elizabeth loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith in God was at the center of her life. She loved her church, loved to pray, and cherished her relationship with God. Her prayers, faith, and example touched the lives of many.
Elizabeth also had a beautiful creative spirit. She loved to sing and had a special gift for writing poetry. She wrote several poems, including prophetic poetry, through which she expressed her faith, thoughts, and spiritual gifts.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory her three surviving children, Darryl Leggett, Kevin Leggett, and Janet Leggett; surviving siblings, May Vester Singletary and Leroy Smith; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, church family, friends, and loved ones.
Though Elizabeth has departed this earthly life, the love she gave, the prayers she prayed, the songs she sang, the words she wrote, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Elizabeth loved the Lord and faithfully carried her faith throughout her earthly journey. We celebrate her life, honor her memory, and thank God for the precious gift of her presence among us.
Rest peacefully, Mother.
Your love, your prayers, your songs, and your legacy will live on forever.
