Obituary
Elliott Delaney Reed, Jr., was born on January 21, 1968, in Miami, Florida, to Amy Daniels Reed and the late Elliott Reed, Sr. He was raised in Carol City and later moved to Opa-locka, where he remained a resident for over 37 years. He attended Miami Central Senior High School and graduated with the Class of 1986.
From the young age of six, he developed a passion for football and continued playing through high school. He was also involved in other sports, played the saxophone, and he participated in JROTC. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Elliott was the eldest of eight siblings. He was a loving father, brother, and friend with a big heart. Though he didn't have much, he generously shared what he did have. He later entered into a marriage, where their union was blessed with three children.
Lil Butch was highly skilled with his hands and could fix just about anything. He was wise, hardworking, and held various jobs throughout his life. While he spent many years as a truck driver, he also worked in construction and later in his career earned a certificate from Lindsey Hopkins Technical College, becoming a licensed electrician.
On Monday morning, August 25, 2025, he departed this earth for his eternal home. Elliott was reunited with his father, Elliott Reed, Sr. (Big Butch); two grandmothers, Ida Mae Daniels and Maxine Reed; uncle, Jessie Daniels; two aunts, Mary Jean Daniels and Annette Johnson; and two godbrothers, Edwin Johnson and John Trotter.
Elliott leaves behind to mourn and cherish his memories: his three children, Maurice Reed, Alicia Reed, and Elliott Reed III; grandchildren, Elliott Reed IV, Maurice Reed, Jr., Marissa Reed, Harper Gill, and Marcel Gill; mother, Amy Daniels Reed; he also leaves his two brothers, Reginald Reed and De'Andre Reed; five sisters, Regina Reed-Charles (Joseph), LaToya Reed-Lewis(Eltoro), Lavern Brown, Chantel Reed, and Tiffany Green (Roderick); aunts, Christina Merriweather, Patricia Ryland, Francis Bennett, Chryl Moore Nichalos, Paula Chesson(Larry), Nanette Nealy, Eleanor Reed, and Rhondilyn Reed Williams; uncle, Isaac Reed (Gale); seven nieces, Whitney Johnson, Stephanie Lubin (Justin), Shaniqua Butler-Williams, Aamoni Harts, Kayla Dobson, Alena Reese, and Saniya Reed; three nephews, Reginald Reed, Jr., Raequan Reed, and Kalil Harts; great-niece, Serenity Davis; great-nephew, Thaddeus Johnson; two godsisters, Nancy Johnson and Sabrina Johnson; two godbrothers, Patrick Micheal and Anthony Trotter; goddaughter, Samantha Lightbourne; and a host of cousins, other relatives, devoted friends, and coworkers.
