Obituary
Eric Von Keys was born on June 27, 1968, in Miami, Florida, to his loving parents, Willie Keys and Lucille Chavis. On June 16, 2026, Eric was called home after a courageous fight, leaving this world surrounded by love and cherished memories.
Eric spent most of his life in Miami, especially in the Seminola area, where he built lifelong friendships and became known for his warm spirit and strong presence. During his years there, he embraced the community and even learned to speak Spanish. He attended Miami Springs Senior High School and later built a career as a heavy equipment operator, working for Odebrecht and at Hialeah Park Race Track for over 14 years.
His hobbies were watching all sports, playing dominoes and playing pool, fishing, bbq and cooking.
Eric was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his children, Eric Jr., Noel, and Chanelle; his sisters, Rhonda, Marvelette, and L’Oréal; his five beloved grandchildren; and his longtime fiancée, Peggy, with whom he shared 15 years of love and companionship. He was preceded in death by his brother, Sheldon, and his daughter, Marquella.
Eric’s life was one of strength, resilience, and love. He touched many lives along the way and leaves behind a legacy of memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
