Obituary

Fannie B. Toombs, beloved daughter of Earnest and Florence Hill, was born on November 14, 1936, in Abbeville, Alabama. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized, becoming a faithful member of Crooms Temple Church of God in Christ.

Fannie was a dedicated student who pursued her education in various institutions. She attended Abbeville Junior High School in Alabama and later studied at Nightingale College from 1961 to 1962. She then continued her education at Miami Dorsey Skill Center College in 1972 and finished her education at Miami Dade Community College in 1980. Fannie had a passion for caring for others which led her to pursue a career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She dedicated many years to providing comfort and support to those in need, always going above and beyond to ensure the wellbeing of her patients.

In addition to her career, Fannie was a devoted member of her church, Crooms Temple Church of God in Christ. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her presence brought light and joy to all who knew her, and her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Fannie B. Toombs transitioned to her new home peacefully on April 14, 2024.

Fannie is preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Florence Hill; children, William Lamb, Sharon Patterson; sister, Lottie Pearl-Barnes; brothers, Earnest James Hill, Willie B. Hill.

She is survived by her beautiful children: Carson Hill, Lisa Wadley-Stephens (Christopher Stephens), and Derrick Toombs; she also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; she was a loving sister to Norris Armstrong, Betty Hamilton, Minnie Smith (Holloway), Emma Dinkins, Ada Lee Jones, Mytrice Richardson, and Sallie Mae Mallard; Fannie was also a caring sister to Bennie Hill (Earnestine), she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
