Obituary
Faye Jerusha Mobley-Flash was born on September 30, 1954, in Madison, Florida to the late James Mobley Sr. and Cora Lee Pearson-Mobley. She was the second child of seven children of which two preceded her in death, Ruby Dean Mobley Dassaw (baby sister) and Ray (Butch) Mobley (younger brother). Faye was also adored by special mothers Henrietta Knowles (deceased), Virgina Chester (deceased) and her beloved fur baby Chu-Chu.
Faye was a scholarly student who fancied attending school. She received her education through the Miami Dade County Public Schools system where she graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School (Home of the Mighty Bulls) Class of 72’. She also worked part-time as a caregiver to the children of her close neighbors. This role allowed Faye to take her very first plane ride on the day she graduated. This was an unforgettable experience that sparked her desire to travel.
Faye furthered her educational endeavors at Miami Dade College receiving an associate degree while beginning her career as an administrative secretary for the Miami Dade Police Department. She served diligently in this position for twenty years. Being the astute student she was, at age fifty, Faye decided to complete her bachelor’s degree at Brown Mackie College. She was determined to achieve that academic goal.
Faye enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a dedicated and devoted mother to her two children, Cristal, and Travis. Everyone knew she didn’t play about her children. Faye was a hands-on mother. She was that parent who was at every play, camping trips, award ceremonies, girl and boy scout troop meetings, karate practices, tournaments, and graduations. Her children were her pride and joy. She is affectionately known to her children’s friends as “Mama Faye.”
Not only did Faye love her children, but she also immensely loved her church. Faye accepted God as a child but was reborn after becoming a member of the Church of Christ. Faye served faithfully at her beloved Pembroke Park Church of Christ, in many ministries until her health began to hinder her attendance. She was truly a servant of God! She was known to be a willing worker serving on the hospitality and kitchen ministry. Furthermore, Faye enjoyed her time with the Ambassadors Group of Miami Gardens. She also loved music and was a member of the Majestic Voices for Christ. A marvelous soprano that she was!
Faye had a personal relationship with God and felt confident and knowing where her soul would be when God called her to Glory. On Friday, December 15th, 2023, God said to her, “My child, come to me and take your rest thy good and faithful servant”.
Faye will be lovingly remembered by her devoted children, Cristal Williams, and Travis Mobley (Syndy). Siblings; James Jr. (Voncille), Patricia Mobley, Kelvin (Regina) Mobley and Rodney Mobley. Aunt; Mosely Barfield, uncles Thomas (Pearl), Willie, Jerry (Ann), Ray (Donna) and Frank (Ruby), best friend Ms. Glenda Gibson a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fur babies Paco, Buddy, and Queenie.
There are some things I may not know. There are some places, Oh Lord, I cannot go, but I am sure of this one thing, that God is Real, for I can feel Him in my soul.
