Obituary

Those who have sorrow, pain, and crying here on earth can be comforted knowing that there will be a day when we will feel none of these things-in Heaven. But God has given us the strength to fight sorrow and pain on this earth.  Revelation 21:4

A mother’s passing is one of the deepest sorrow anyone can endure, but to know that her enduring love brings solace to the hearts of her children to ease the pain day by day.

As the oldest of six siblings, Flecthisa Finney-Jones, “Tisha” as she was known was born on December 22, 1972 in Miami, FL to the parents of Glenda Jean Finney and Andrew Finney, Sr.

At an early age, Tisha was taught her Christian values. In 1988, her family made Greater Holy Cross M.B.C. their church home. Tisha continued attending until her passing.

Tisha’s education began at Van E. Blanton Elementary. She moved on to Carol City Middle School. She graduated from the “Prideful Bulls” in 1991 from Miami Northwestern Senior High. She further her education at the American Professional Institute where she received her license in 2007 to become a Nail Technician. And boy was she good at those nails!

In a previous relationship, Tisha had her first born Letisha Harrell on December 28, 1990. On April 7, 1994, the twins Evonne and Emilio, Jr., were born to Flectisha and Emilio Jones, Sr. The union of Flectisha and Emilio, Sr., was commenced on March 11, 2005.

The family moved to Warner Robins, GA where they lived for several years. Missing home, they made the decision to move back to Miami where she was a caregiver and loved speaking of her family, especially of her mother and children, laughing, and listening to oldie Goldie’s.

Her most recent job was performed in Customer Service of Kroger in Miami until her demise. It didn’t matter what jobs she had, she loved being with people. She was most definitely a people person!

She was called to eternal rest on April 22, 2023. Flectisha is preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Evonne Jones and dearest mother Glenda Finney.

She will be cherished by: her loving husband, Emilio Jones, Sr.; daughter, Letisha Harrell; son, Emilio Jones, Jr. (Dominique); father, Andrew Finney, Sr.; brothers, Andrew Finney, III (Marleana), Tyrone Finney and Corey Finney; sisters, Monica Oliver, Antrece Finney; aunts, Karla Smith (Willie); uncles, Charles Stokes, Norman Redman, and Calvin Bowens; mother-in-law, Margaret Jett (Steve); sister-in-law, Daliana Jones; brother-in-law, Nelse Jones; god sister and cousin, Natashia Chatfield; grandchildren, Antoinette, Emilio Jones, III, Savannah, and Mila; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was loved by all and will be truly missed.
