Obituary
Florice Sanders Smith was born to George Sanders and Clara Mae Searcy on December 10, 1944, in Belle Glade, Florida. She was one of triplets and was raised in New York before migrating to Miami, Florida, as an adult. She was a mother to twelve beautiful children. She was known as “Flo” or “Mama Flo” to many. She received her education in Miami - Dade County and was a jack of all trades. She was a certified cosmetologist and business owner. Florice ran and operated a landscaping business with her ex-husband, Curtis who preceded her in death, and held a janitorial business for many years. Her profound love for children lead her to work with babies and teen parents at the Duval County School Board in Jacksonville, Florida, where she later opened her own daycare. In 2010, Flo moved back to Miami to help care for her own grandchildren. Florice symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism and was an active servant of Jehovah for over 55 years.
Florice loved spending time with family and friends. Additionally, she had a love for cooking family dinners, listening to music, and traveling. Florice was a mom, friend, and confidant to many, touching their hearts in
various ways. She possessed a very special kind of love for people and spent much of her free time socializing and always providing encouraging words and comforting thoughts to everyone she met.
Florice leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Brenda Harrell (Sylvester III), Vicki Smith-Kelly, Tonya Mason (Gregory), and Kisha Stanley (Kelvin Sr.), and she was preceded in death by Ronda Smith-Doyle.
Florice leaves: her sons, Curtis Larry Smith, Darrell Smith, Andre Smith, Marcus Smith (Tangela), and Ian Smith (Sabrina), and she was preceded in death by Gary Smith and Keith Smith. Florice also leaves a host of
aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
