Obituary
Gail Dean Jeanty, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. Her life was defined by generosity, quiet strength, and a deep and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Born on December 8, 1952, in Miami, Florida, to Theodore Dean and Carrie Dean Morris, Gail was raised with a strong sense of responsibility and compassion—qualities that guided her throughout her life. She dedicated many years of service as a Social Worker with the Department of Children and Families, where she was widely respected for her integrity, commitment, and the genuine care she showed to both colleagues and the families she served.
Gail was united in marriage to Dardel Jeanty, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and steadfast support. She was a guiding light in the lives of her children—Shakitha, Dardel, Jarvis, and Rashad—instilling in them the values of resilience, humility, and compassion for others.
Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Gail found immense happiness in being present for their milestones, offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. She treasured every moment spent with them.
Gail was known for her gentle humor, her love of pokeno and dominoes, and her enjoyment of relaxing while watching television. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her gift for listening without judgment and giving without expectation left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Shakitha Bullard; her three sons, Dardel (Nikkia), Jarvis, and Rashad Jeanty; her seven grandchildren, Jeanysha, Shatony, Jordan, Jade, Dakota, Jaiden, and Carter; her mother, Carrie Morris; four sisters, Phyllis (Joe) Wilson, Patrice Sanford, Robin Ford, and Thea (Calvin) Hines; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Dardel Jeanty; her father, Theodore Dean; and her brother, Craig Dean.
Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled, the love she gave so freely, and the countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
