Obituary
Geneva Dardy Stevens was born October 19, 1962, in Opa-Locka, Florida, to Marion Joan Bryant and the late Dallas Dardy, Sr. She was the second eldest of seven children. As a young lady, Geneva loved sports. In fact, she was an all-star player in basketball, volleyball, and track. Geneva was educated through the Miami-Dade County public school system and was a proud graduate of Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School.
In 1985, Geneva met Bobby Stevens. They fell in love and were married in 1995. Nothing was more important to Geneva than her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother to her three daughters, Latoya, Lashonda, and the late Latrice, and her four grandsons, Lamar, Lamont, Anthony, and Ji’Aire.
As we reflect on Geneva’s tremendous life and legacy, we remember the many fond memories and good times we shared with her. She was always there for her family and friends, showering them with her unconditional love and support. Her warm personality, awesome sense of humor, and heart of gold were unmatched, and we will cherish those memories forever. She lived her life to the fullest and we are truly blessed to have had her in our lives. Losing Geneva is an enormous loss for our family because she was our shero, and the life of the party, but she will continue to live on in our hearts until the end of time.
On July 2, 2023, GOD decided to call His angel home to take her well-deserved final rest. Geneva was preceded in death by her dads, Dallas Dardy, Sr., and James Aldridge; brother, Anthony Bryant; sister-in-law, Bert Mae Stevens; mother and father-in-law, Mattie Lee Stevens and Ernest Stevens, Sr.; ex-husband, Emmanuel Kelsey; and her youngest daughter, Latrice Dardy Kelsey Stevens. Geneva is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Stevens; daughters, Latoya Dardy, Lashonda Dardy-Jones, and Monique Turner; son-in-law, Willie Jones; grandsons, Lamar Jones, Lamont Jones, Anthony Rozier, Braylon Jones, and Ji’Aire Smith; siblings, Jeanette (Joe) McKenzie, Dallas Dardy, Jr., Cathy James (Llyod Greene), Judy (Errol) Bell, and Tyroe (Alicia) Aldridge, Sr.; in-laws, Sonya Williams, Ernest Jr., Issac (Lanette), Dwight, Cynthia, and Michael; nephews and nieces, Jeffery, Joe Jr., Lasheika (Herbert), Antanetta, Derek, CaDereka, Errol Jr., Ranard, LaRoy, Joenette, Juwan, Tyrone Jr., Jaenelle, and Hannah; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and loving friends.
