Obituary
George Dacres was born on October 25, 1951, in Kingston, Jamaica. He was one of many children born to the late Joyce Thomas and Sydney George Dacres. He received his education from Gaynstead Highschool in Kingston, Jamaica. He worked for Metal Box Jamaica Ltd. in Kingston, Jamaica, until he moved to the United States in 1983, where he worked for Wiborg Vinyl until he retired. George relocated from Jamaica to live permanently in Florida, where he met the love of his life, Karen Dacres, to whom he’s been married for the past 37 years. George was extremely smart; he built an engine from scratch and he had a passion for cars. He knew everything about fixing cars and machines. George loved to be there for his family and friends. Anyone could ask him for anything and he would be there no matter what!
His greatest attribute was his unconditional love for his wife, his children, and his family. George had a heart of gold and a pure soul. He was truly a good person!
God gave him his wings on the evening of Monday, July 24, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his twin daughter, Dionne Dacres, and loving mother Joyce Thomas and father, Sydney George Dacres.
George leaves to morn his memories: wife, Karen Dacres; sons, Charlton Dacres, Corey Dacres (Stephanie), Lloyd Gamble Jr., and his twin daughter, Dianne Dresman (Russell); sisters, Kimberly Dacres, Juliet Dacres, Phyllis Aycock, Nerissa Martin (Ainsworth), Janet Dacres, and Joan Floyd; brothers, Delray Dacres, Sydney Dacres, and Ricardo Dacres; a few other siblings; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
