Obituary

A Time to Be Born

George Govan, Jr., was born March 4, 1951, to the proud parents, George Govan, Sr., and Lily Bell Bartley, in Columbia, South Carolina. Both parents preceded him in death.

George Govan, Jr., received his education from Miami Jackson High School. After high school, he then went on to serve honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1973 to 1977.

He was employed by Miami-Dade County and the Veterans Affairs Hospital until retirement.

The legacy of his life continues to live on through those he leaves behind. George leaves precious memories with: his sister, Levinie Bartley; nephew, Ray Bartley; grand-niece, Lakenya Bartley; and many other loving relatives and friends.
