Obituary
Gerald James Leopold Morrison was born on May 19, 1939, on the Island of Jamaica, in Hanbury, Mandeville, to the late Cyrus and Leonora Morrison. He migrated to the Bahamas in his young adult years with his brother, Ronald Morrison, and began his career in tourism on cruise ships. Gerald became a United States citizen on April 20, 1978. He completed his college education at Miami Dade College with an Electrical Engineering degree.
Gerald worked for Beckman Coulter for 35 years as an engineer and enjoyed fixing electronic devices like TV’s. Gerald met and married Yvonne Morrison and enjoyed 31 years of marriage with her.
He is survived by his wife; five children, Donna, Maurice, Wilbert, Damion, and Kristi; is also survived by his sisters, Kate, Sheila, and Thelma; grandchildren, Aryssa, Damion “Chuli,” and Adryanna; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
“Say not in grief ‘he is no more’ but in thankfulness that he was.” Hebrew Proverb.
He will truly be missed.
