Obituary
On the day of August 15, 1971, Garald Mompoint was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the parentage of Boyer Mompoint and Claudie Celestin. On that day, they were blessed with their child who many called brother, uncle, cousin, or friend.
During his teen and early adult years, he was known to be knowledgeable, funny, and always wanted to ensure his opinions and thoughts mattered.
After spending years in Haiti, he moved to South Florida in 1995 to pursue work here in the States. He often traveled back and forth to his home island of Haiti to enjoy island life. During his tenure here in the states, he became a popular barber where many people gathered to hear his opinions about life and politics.
Garald was a man who often smiled, laughed, and was always intriguing to those who were surrounded by his presence.
He is survived by his five children, Marc-Garel Mompoint, Javens Mompoint, Garsha Mompoint, Abigael Mompoint, and Garvens Mompoint; sisters, Elise, Yvrose, Francoise, Synthia, and Irlande; brothers, Harold, Fred, Hubert, Guy, Emmanuel, Steve, Boyer Jr., Tony, and Henry Claude; an abundance of nephews, nieces, and cousins; the Celestin, Mompoint, Botex, Antoine, Previlor, Richard, Laroche, and Sanon families; and friends, Boston, Wilex, Sancionne, Wildie, Roudeline, Claudy Monestime, and Jacquelyn.
The family wants to thank all who came across Mr. Garald Mompoint. May his life and legacy be remembered by those who have loved him.
“God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.”
