Obituary
Gia Menyon Jones was born on September 21st, 1966, in Miami, Florida to Alonzo Jones and Dorothy Louise Ware, who preceded her in death. She received her education through the Miami-Dade public school system. After completing her primary level of education, she attended North Miami Senior High and graduated from D.A Dorsey Technical College. After graduating, she furthered her education at Everest University.
In 2006, Gia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. After the death of her son Leroy, she regularly attended service at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.
Gia started her work career in Food Service at Miami-Dade County public school cafeterias. She really enjoyed cooking and touching people hearts with her food. She then changed her career path towards the United States Postal Service where she continued to build relationships. She was passionate about her work and took pride in everything she did.
Gia entered the gates of heaven on September 21, 2024. She passed peacefully wrapped in our father’s arms.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Dorothy Louise Ware; son, Leroy Benjamin Brown and Dorothy Patricia Ware.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Lakia Gaitor (Aaron) and Alize Jones; two grandkids, Tynesha and Ariana; one great-grand, Kyleigh; aunt, Margaret; siblings, Andre (James), Kelvin, Alfrado, Kerry, and Ardria (Gerrard); special niece, Tonya and Tameeka (Keith); life partner, Lloyd Reid. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews (25).
