Obituary
Gilbert Thomas Bowie was born on November 14, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey, to his loving parents, Tom Thomas and Mary Bowie.
Gilbert moved to Miami, Florida, at the young age of two years old. He was educated by the Miami Dade County Public School System. In which, he attended Dunbar Elementary and graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School.
Gilbert was employed by Eastern Airlines as a sky cap worker.
He had a passion for helping his family and others. He was very resourceful and didn’t mind lending a helping hand. He was up for any challenge! He loved sports, his favorite team was the Miami Heat and the Miami Hurricanes. He was well kept. He took pride in his appearance by wearing he latest fashion from Rasools men’s clothing store.
Gilbert had a special love for his mother and father, children and grandchildren, sisters and brothers, niece and nephew, cousins and friends and he made sure everyone he knew was good. He was an amazing man of God; he was a gentle angel. He will forever be in our hearts.
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, he transitioned from this world to heaven. He is now reunited with his parents, Tom Thomas and Mary Bouie; siblings, Sylvester Bouie and Pricilla Smith with many relatives who has gone before him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving children, Cedric, Gilbert Jr., Jamal, Tattala, Prince, and Jovan, all Bowie Siblings, Robert Bouie, Sheila Bouie Coley, Howard Bouie, Bridget Bouie, Leslie Henderson, Jeffrey and Jill Bouie, three ex-wives, first wife, LaPrincycsess Bess, second wife, Elizabeth Bowie, third, Carmen Parsons-Bowie, grand and great-grandchildren, other relatives along with a host of extended family and friends.
