Gwendolyn Juanita Wooten Coley was born on October 13, 1939 in Miami, FL, to the late Ruth L. Wooten and Grover C. Wooten, Jr. She received her education through Miami Dade public schools attending Liberty City Elementary, Dorsey Jr. High & Miami Northwestern Sr. High where she graduated in 1957.
