Obituary
Henry Montgomery, born on August 30, 1946 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late parents of Bennie & Louise Montgomery. He attended ___elementary school. He later moved to Miami, Florida. Where he attained his education through the Miami-Dade public School System. He attended “The “Miami Northwestern Senior High School where he played Football then graduating in with the class of 1965.
He later went on to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps from March 31, 1966 until he was medically retired on March 20, 1969. He is a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal National Defense Service Medal Vietnamese Service Medal Vietnamese Campaign Medal.
He later joined the U.S. Postal Service where he dedicated 35 years of service before retiring in 2009.
Henry was a member of Kerr Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served on the food ministry up until 2020 (COVID) He loved cooking and baking. He was famous for his tender Bar-B-Que Ribs and his moist chocolate cakes. Anytime you came to his house there was always something to eat. As a past time, he enjoyed fishing. He would get up early in the morning to head out to fish all day long. Henry also enjoyed watching Westerns & His two sport teams, Green Bay Packers and Boston Celtics. He joked about not liking no Florida sports team. (Especially the Miami Dolphins) Overall, Henry was a Classic cool guy that loved to travel and being with his family. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do for his children, grandchildren, or godchildren. Our Superman will truly be missed.
Henry is preceded in his death by ex-wives, Cindy Montgomery, and Gloria Toomer-Montgomery. He leaves to mourn his only living sister Sheila Lewis and Brother-N-Law Willie Lewis His children. Desiree Brown (Carl) Racquel Cofield (William) Venus Jolly (Xavier) Natasha Montgomery, Shervon Seide (Josey) Lovette, Tonda & Cameron Montgomery Andre Montgomery (Katrina) Canaan Montgomery (Cecilia) Caleb Montgomery Cayman Adjumal (Ashley) 32 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren. A host of nieces & nephews, Cousins and Godchildren.
