Obituary
Jaamal Berry was born on May 22, 1991 in Miami Florida to Eartha and Howard Berry Jaamal received his early education at Miami Shores elementary school followed by Miami Palmetto middle and high school where he played varsity football as a junior. Jaamal decided to make his name by attending all the combines in Florida, where he became one of the top running back for the year of 2009 he was offered over 50 scholarships from D1 schools where he chose The Ohio State University.
Not only one to inspire, Jaamal was also a jokester bringing laughter to those around him. On numerous occasions he’d humorously complain to his mother about something or someone, beginning dramatically with a drawn out, “MA...”. To be honest, he may have been serious, but his charisma and penchant for being goofy had us laughing even before he opened his mouth. He will be remembered for how he was not only a beacon of light, but how he in turn brought out the light, joy and laughter in others. Jaamal truly brought out the best in all of us.
Jaamal transitioned on June 9th 2024 at the age of 33.
Jaamal leaves behind, to cherish his beautiful memories: mother, Eartha Berry; father, Howard Berry; sisters, Mahogany, Diamond, and Bonet (Arthur Scott); brother, Adeem; grandparents, James (Jackie) Howard; uncle, Franklin (Debbie) McNeil; special friend, Samia; four nieces; seven nephews; and a host of friends and cousins.
